Mission Statement

Mission

The mission of Charter College & Career Prep is centered on Student College and Career success. We provide an engaging, rigorous, hands-on learning culture that develops innovative 21st Century citizens to compete in an ever-changing world.

We stay true to our mission by creating a program that offers the following:

Schedule

Our seat-based program provides 9 classes per quarter. Each course is worth 2.5 credits, which enables students to earn 90 credits per year. This allows us to offer built in credit recovery or accelerated graduation options. Classes meet Monday through Thursday from 7:55 a.m. to 2:35 p.m. Our Friday electives courses are stand-alone which meet from 7:55 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. The length of our Friday classes allows for a deeper and more meaningful focus on courses that prepare students for their chosen career. Upper-classmen have the option to utilize Friday as a time to job shadow, participate in internships, or get an earlier start to their work day.

NWEA Assessment (Northwestern Evaluation Association)

We use NWEA to assess and schedule our students in the areas of Math, Reading, and Literature. We use this data to place your student in courses that help fill in gaps in student learning, which provides a platform for student academic growth.

No Fail Commitment

Our staff is committed to ensuring that all students succeed at the level they desire. Students are encouraged to retake tests as many times as necessary for the grade they want to acquire. Makeup tests are scheduled through the Learning Center.

Advanced Education

Geographically located within walking distance from Folsom Lake College (El Dorado Extension) provides an ideal partnership with Folsom Lake College’s Advanced Education Program. Through this partnership students with a GPA of 2.7 or above may take courses at the college and receive credits for our programs and college at the same time.
